Community funding criteria

Gloucestershire Gateway Trust are delighted to support a wide range of local projects, initiatives, events and more in our target communities, in addition to our regular grants to our community partners.  We are focused on supporting and driving community development and through our community match funding, we can consider one-off funding applications that meet the following criteria:

Does your project or event bring residents together to work on the things that matter your community?

Is it based in or strongly connected to one of our target neighbourhoods – Matson, Robinswood, Tuffley, Podsmead, White City, Stonehouse or the GL10 area?

Does it focus on building on the strengths in your community and taking positive action on local priorities?

Does it involve at least four residents in the community working together on a project that brings local people together?

If you can demonstrate the above then you can:

  • Apply for a matching funding of £50 – £2,000;
  • Apply for a money match of £11.00* for each hour of resident volunteered time you are prepared to put in up to the amount you need to make it happen.

*This rate is based on the Community Development Foundation research.

Applications will not succeed if they:

  • are party political;
  • do not bring people together;
  • cannot demonstrate a 1:1 community match to the funds requested.

If you think you meet the criteria and would like to apply, contact us with a note about what you want to do and if it fits we’ll send you a short application form.  If we award you a Community Development Grant we will always be keen to get feedback through photos and stories.
